In addition to continuing to provide the best possible customer care, eye for design and quality working products, VectorDefector will be releasing a few new services and products throughout the year: new “tag-along” mini sites specifically designed to work well with mobile devices, a new e-commerce package for folks seeking a total e-commerce store solution, and expanded features on our already great editable designs.

I also anticipate several new launches to kick off the new year, so please come back and check out our latest and greatest collaborations!

Conscious Alliance

Excellent customers and fantastic non-profit Conscious Alliance recently partnered with me again to expand their online store. A latest venture in the name of donations for the hungry, the new wing of the store will be geared toward selling a range of clothing and apparel styled to match Conscious Alliance’s “Art that Feeds” motto.

I’m ‘sportin’ the Louie Gong T-shirt! Great gear for a great cause!

Font Organization (Finally!)

NexusFont

I’ve been putting it off for a very long time, so today I finally broke down and made myself choose a piece of software to help me manage my vast collection of fonts. After scouring the web and testing out a few different options, my favorite has landed: Xiles.net NexusFont.

Nexus font has a simple to use interface, loads my whole library fairly quickly, and most importantly: lets me choose which sample text I use and allows me to group my fonts into sets of my choosing.

Finally! Now I no longer need to spend hours sitting in front of Adobe Illustrator hitting the “down” arrow a thousand times to find the right font. If you’ve ever had a similar experience, you should check NexusFont.

PharoahMoan Products

When long term friends and work associates Pharoahmoan Productions contacted me to help produce the next phase of their site, I said “of course!”. PMP focus on entertainment marketing within the alternative music community from event planning and venue locating to act booking and DJ resources.

Since our last collaboration took place in 2005, it was far time to give the PMP site a revamp. The new version features a brand new design crafted to meet new markets and screen sizes, an easy-to-update content management system and expandability for future services.

Still a few gaps to fill in, but a fabulous improvement, congrats guys! Check out the case study under my Interactive section.

Dark Music Theme

Dark Music Theme

My buddy Doug Koke and I joined forces in late July to come up with series of web designs for the purpose of fitting them to existing content-management driven websites for an associate I met online. I must say, we rock some socks in the design department. I was surprised that after years of doing pure development work, I still have some chops.

Each of us picked from a set of 12 possible layouts (6 each) with a wide range of styles: Dark Music (featured left), Sports, News Portals and Design Portfolios to name a few. It sure is nice to be able to come up with ideas and not have to actually implement them sometimes! Its a different workflow to just keep cranking out concepts and not have to break the cycle to write lines and lines of code.

My client, Mortgage Training Institute recently launched our latest collaboration: a new pure CSS site marketing their new product LivePresenter, a top-of-line yet inexpensive product that streamlines online video presentations.

MTI: LivePresenter

MTI: LivePresenter

Designed and developed by yours truly, the LivePresenter site was built for marketing and search engine efficiency. Along with creating a series of hand-crafted logos and icons, I also developed a media player in Silverlight 2.0 to showcase customer testimonials. I also designed layouts for their nifty back-end toolset that allows users to manage their online presentations.

Great product + great collaboration = great results! Congrats, guys.
